About the event
Assaggia Tortona is a historic food and wine festival founded in 1996 that celebrates the culinary and winemaking excellence of the Alessandria territory. The event takes place in the historic center of the city of Tortona, primarily along the pedestrian axis of Via Emilia. The festival transforms the city streets into an open-air tasting route, thanks to dozens of stands occupied by local producers, restaurateurs, and winemakers from the area. The core of the initiative is the promotion of traditional specialties such as the Derthona Timorasso white wine, typical agnolotti pasta, Montébore cheese, and the characteristic Fragola Profumata (Aromatic Strawberry) of Tortona. In addition to the culinary offerings featuring finger foods and street food, the festival includes concerts, side events, and free extraordinary openings of the main city museums.
