Le Porte di Pietra trail

Le Porte di Pietra is a historic trail running competition founded in 2006 in the Borbera Valley, located within the Piedmontese Apennines. Based in Cantalupo Ligure in the province of Alessandria, the event is scheduled to hold its next edition over the weekend of May 16 and 17, 2026. The main race follows a highly technical seventy-kilometer loop with over four thousand meters of positive elevation gain, reaching scenic ridges along the border between Piedmont and Liguria. The competition strictly adheres to the principle of semi-self-sufficiency, limiting full aid stations to honor the original spirit of wilderness running. Alongside the flagship race, the event includes shorter routes like the Finestre di Pietra and the Castello di Pietra, drawing hundreds of athletes annually to the unique Four Provinces region.
